Putting Up With Each Other

Rudy and Audrey are learning to live together under one roof. Rudy has stopped getting annoyed when Audrey wakes up in the middle of the night. In fact, he now accompanies us to the nursery and waits while she feeds, then escorts me back to bed. Audrey forgives the occasional invasion of space (like when Rudy accidentally sits on her while she is on the playmat). Here, they are spending a relaxing Memorial Day on the deck together. Of course, Rudy had to get front and center for the picture, not to be overshadowed by his little sister.

My First Wedding

Audrey attended her first wedding this weekend. Her (honorary) Aunt Paige and Uncle Andrew got married in Lake Forest and Audrey was on-site for the festivities. She even got to pose with a very daring bride. Either Paige REALLY loves you, Audrey, or she has never seen you spit up as she decided to hold you in her beautiful wedding gown prior to the ceremony! Fortunately, there were no mishaps and the dress stayed clean!

She also stayed in her first hotel. She enjoyed lounging on the bed...

Here are some more photos of the weekend. Two Grandmas were in town to spoil her rotten!

Granny Jenn Arrives!

Andy's mum, Granny Jenn, arrived from England on Audrey's four-week birthday. There were plenty of tears at the airport as she met her first grandchild. She came bearing gifts from the Brits, plenty of patience and ready to babysit! We did not know that she also brought a secret weapon...her voice! She can calm Audrey during even her most difficult spells with her magic powers and her English accent. The photos below were taken during the "witching hours" when Audrey is (usually) most difficult to appease.

First Smiles

This week we had our first "real" smiles from Audrey. I tried to capture it on camera but when I blocked my face with the camera, she stopped smiling so it was a losing battle. Here are some cute snaps of her between smiles...

3 Weeks Old

We can't believe Audrey is already three weeks old! She is much more alert recently, spending many hours a day with eyes wide open, gazing at the world around her. She is also discovering her mouth and how to make funny faces.

First Mother's Day

A photo of mother and daughter before Liz's big Mother's Day treat...mussels! For the last 8 months, she has been unable to eat one of her favorite foods so we celebrated Mother's Day with mussels, pomme frites and a glass of wine! What a perfect day with our little bundle of joy!

My Week with Nana Roxane

This week has flown by. Audrey had her first date to Mia Francesca with mom and dad on Friday night - she slept through the entire dinner, much to our delight!

Nana Roxane arrived on Sunday and we have had an exciting week. We made our first shopping trip to Michigan Avenue and I am happy to report that she seems to enjoy shopping as much as her mother and grandmother. She also had her two-week check up at the pediatrician and she weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 22 inches. The doctor thinks she is going to be a tall girl!

Here are some photos of the week...

Getting ready for her dinner date...

Home from dinner and still asleep!

One of her favorite "activities": sleeping on dad while he watches TV...

A diaper change...

And back to sleep on mom...

Asleep in her stroller at Bloomingdale's...

Back to sleep on Nana...

Some play time today. Two weeks and two days old!

Lunch with Friends

One for Nana with my eyes open!

Practicing her football (soccer) skills!

A little camera shy

Audrey with Mr. Rabbit and friend

Today we had some friends over for lunch to meet Audrey. Here are some photos of her posing for her new fans as well as one with her new toy. The new toy is a pink and white bunny rabbit...the toy on her other side is Mr. Rabbit. Mr. Rabbit belongs to a friend who asked to remain nameless. Mr. Rabbit was his favorite childhood toy, as is evidenced by the fact that he is 33 years old and carried it with him in his briefcase today to show Audrey!

One Week Old!

I can't believe she is already one week old! This photo shoot didn't go so well. I captured the spirit in this picture. It was downhill from here...

Getting to know you...

We are quickly getting to understand each other and things are getting easier (knock on wood) around the house. We had a big day yesterday with the first doctor's appointment. We took her in the stroller and were even able to have lunch at a restaurant on the way back while she slept soundly. We also discovered the magical qualities of the swing. She falls asleep immediately when placed in the swing...worth every penny! Here are some more pictures from yesterday. After a few trips out in public with her blue blankets and unisex clothing, we decided she needed some pink or we were risking future gender identity issues.
