Audrey's First Birthday Party

I hesitate to even post this blog yet as I do not want to admit that Audrey is ONE five days before it actually happens. Where did a year go? The best year of our lives, to be sure! This weekend, we had Audrey's first birthday party and, at 9 pm on Sunday night as I write this post and she sleeps soundly, I am sure she has never been more exhausted and Andy and I are not far behind. She had an amazing weekend and we loved watching her have so much fun.

The party was at a French restaurant in Lincoln Park (note the berets on the kids in the pics). We had many special friends and family there and we are so lucky to have such wonderful people in Audrey's life. In addition to many Chicago friends, both grandmas and great grandma (GiGi) were there and Meredith, Andrew, Claire and Aven even flew in from Colorado! When Mom and Dad Are Away...

Andy and I had our first vacation without Audrey this week. We had both traveled for work during the past year but had not both left her since she was born so it was tough to leave her for 7 days. We went to the Bahamas for my work conference and then stayed a few extra days. We had a great time, got to sleep in (although we seem to have forgotten how), golfed, sat in the sun sipping pina coladas and generally enjoyed ourselves. Meanwhile, Audrey was on a little adventure of her own. Seven days with Grandmas!! Here is what they got up to while mom and dad were away...

Everyone is turning ONE!

Audrey went to her first two birthday parties this weekend as her friends are all starting to hit that big milestone - ONE YEAR OLD! The first party was for Evelyn at PJ Clarke's. Audrey partied with Evelyn, the Fitzy girls and new friends over her first cheeseburger, cake and lollipops. We all had a great time and can't believe Evelyn is already a year old!

The next party was for Audrey's friend Cole at Bubbles Academy. It was a rock-n-roll party and Audrey and her friends danced, played the drum and then stuffed herself with Pirate's Booty, Goldfish crackers and cake!

Audrey and Evelyn's Wild Saturday Night

Audrey had a wild Saturday night with her friend Evelyn. While their parents drank wine and played with Andy's new Wii, the girls partied until 9 pm! As you can tell by the pictures of Audrey in her sleepsack and Evelyn stripped down to her diaper, we did try putting them to bed but they wouldn't have any of it and they both came back out for an encore!
